Lady Bears Earn a Win Agaisnt Bob Jones University

The Lady Bears travelled to Greenville, South Carolina late last week to take on the Bruins from Bob Jones University in a non-conference match-up.
 

The Lady Bears jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter by 13 points and extended that lead to 19 points sending the Bears into halftime with a 48-29 advantage. The second half saw the Bruins fighting back, but the Bears' lead from the first half proved to be enough. The Lady Bears ended the night victorious by a final score of 88-69.
 

Rhande Haskett led the Bears offensively with 17 points, in addition to 7 rebounds on the evening. Briana Jones (15 points), Ashley Roby (12 points), Anna Murr (12 points), and Monica Hammond (10 points) also had major contributions en route to the Lady Bears' victory.
 

"It was a great team win tonight," said Head Coach Chad Hibdon. "We had an excellent week of preparation, and it showed tonight. We are making great strides, and winning three of our last four games will give us confidence as we head into the bulk of conference play."
 

With the win, the Lady Bears improve to 5-7 overall on the season. The Lady Bears will take a break for the Christmas holiday before returning to conference play on January 2nd when they host the Rams from Bluefield College. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2:00 pm.
