Lady Bears Basketball Powers Past Toccoa Falls
Box Score The Lady Bears travelled to Toccoa Falls, Georgia on Tuesday evening to face the Eagles from Toccoa Falls College in a non-conference match-up.
The Lady Bears jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter by a score of 26-14. The second quarter saw the Eagles mount a comeback, but the Bears were able to maintain a 45-33 lead going into halftime.
The Bears came out in the second half determined to increase their lead and never looked back, outscoring the Eagles by 19 points. The Lady Bears ended the night victorious by a final score of 86-55.
Ashley Roby led the Lady Bears offensively with 20 points and 4 assists on the night. Rhande Haskett (13 points, 2 assists, 7 rebounds), Briana Jones (12 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds), and Claudia Hester (12 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds) had major contributions to the Bears' victory.
"Our effort was great throughout the game," said Truett-McConnell Head Coach Chad Hibdon. "We are continuing to work and get better in the small details of the game."
With the win, the Bears improve to 4-6 overall on the season. The Lady Bears will be back in action on the road this Saturday, December 12th against the Cavaliers from Montreat College. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2:00 pm.
