Late last week, the Truett-McConnell Men's Basketball team took to the court for their first AAC match-up of the season against the Bulldogs from Tennessee Wesleyan College.
After trailing by 16 points at halftime, the Bears fought back and matched the Bulldogs point-for-point during the second half, but they could never make up the deficit from the first half. As a result, the Bears fell by a final score of 76-92.
Andretti Loyd led the Bears offensively with 22 points on the night. In addition to Loyd's offensive outburst, Sandale James (13 points) and Xavier Holland (11 points) also had productive offensive showings for the Bears. J'Quayveon Williams, a junior from Lake Wales, Florida, led the Bears defensively with 14 rebounds on the night.
After coming up short against Tennessee Wesleyan, the Bears took to the court last night against the Buffaloes from Milligan College. The Bears took a 34-29 lead into the locker room at halftime, but they were unable to keep pace with the Buffaloes in the second half and ultimately fell by a score 63-70.
Andretti Loyd led the Bears offensively with 23 points, 1 assist and 5 rebounds on the night. Meanwhile, Darius McNear led the Bears defensively with 8 rebounds in addition to his 12 points on the night.
As a result of the two hard fought losses, the Bears fall to 2-5 overall on the year and 0-2 in conference play. The Bears will look to rebound on the road against the Bulldogs from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky on Wednesday, December 2nd. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 pm.
