Bears Overpower the Lions in Pivotal AAC Matchup

Box Score       The Bears traveled to Dayton, Tennessee on Wednesday night in hopes of continuing their road dominance against the Bryan College Lions in a pivotal AAC Conference matchup. The Bears wasted no time establishing their presence on the court, streaking to an easy win by the score of 80-69.
The Bears were led by David Campbell, who scored a career high of 20 points in his 22 minutes of action on the court. Andretti Lloyd and J'Quayveon Williams also had huge games on the night for the Bears. Lloyd had 19 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a blocked shot during his 34 minutes of court time. Meanwhile, Williams grabbed another double-double with 13 rebounds and 12 points during his 28 minutes on the floor.
The game featured the No. 1 and No. 2 rebounders in NAIA Division II with J'Quayveon Williams and Brandon Cole going head to head. Williams was able to win the battle, out-rebounding Cole 13-11. "It was another great team effort, especially in guarding Brandon Cole, the nation's leading scorer," said Head Coach Jon Yeh as he left the court following the game.  "Five different people guarded him individually, but our overall team defense limited his touches in the first half and held him to 7 points. I know he scored 31 points overall, but a lot of them were late in the game."
The Bears will travel to Barbourville, Kentucky on Saturday, January 17th, to take on the Union College Bulldogs in another AAC showdown. Union College currently sits atop the AAC standings with a record of 8-1, so with a win, the Bears would pull even with the Bulldogs atop the AAC standings. The Bears will look to improve upon their 5-4 road record and add to their current 6 game winning streak. The game is scheduled to tip at 6:00 PM.
