Volleyball Drops Two Road Games

CLEVELAND, Ga., (TMSports) –On Friday, September 20 the Lady Bears traveled to Kentucky to open up conference play at Union College. Despite trailing (3-10) early in the first set, the Bears fought back to tie the game (15-15). After rallying back and forth, the Bears dropped the first set (21-25.)

The Lady Bears battled the second-ranked bulldogs, but Union hitters Julia Edmonds and Paige Moore were too much for the Bears. The scores were (18-25) and (14-25) in the last two sets.

Hannah Simpson led the Bears offense with 11 kills, hitting .310 and two aces. Keri King led the team in digs with 14, and Simpson followed with ten.

On Saturday, September 21 the Lady Bears faced off against Tennessee Wesleyan College.  The Bears demonstrated tenacity and fought hard to the very end but lost in three sets (24-25), (23-25), and (20-25).

The Lady Bears will face off on the road against Point University on Tuesday, September 23.
