Poor First Half Dooms Lady Bears
Box Score The Truett-McConnell Lady Bears Basketball team traveled to Young Harris College Saturday afternoon in hopes of shaking off a few poor performances. Unfortunately, a smothering Young Harris defense limited the Bears to only seven first half points, and the 29-7 difference at the half proved too astronomical for the Lady Bears to catch up in the second half. Turnovers have hurt the Lady Bears all season, and this game was no different, as they turned the ball over 32 times throughout the course of the game. Young Harris also held them to only 20.6% shooting from the field, as the Bears were only able to connect on 7 out of 34 shots in the game. Freshman guard, Anna Murr, from Sanford, North Carolina led all Lady Bears scorers with a total of 10 points.
The Lady Bears will be back in action December 9th against Bob Jones University in front of the home crowd. The game is scheduled to tip at 5:00 pm. Be sure to come out and cheer the Lady Bears on as they hope to get back on track with a victory.
