Men’s Basketball Tames Hiwassee Tigers
Box Score The Bears took to the court Monday night against the visiting Hiwassee College Tigers for a non-conference matchup between the two teams. It was evident from the start that the Bears had no intention of being denied a victory in front of the home crowd, as they clawed their way to a 36-28 halftime lead. Strong play from the Bears' bench helped propel them to the early lead as their bench outscored the Tigers 14-5 in the first half.
After a few quick halftime adjustments, the Bears returned to the court and continued to build upon their lead with strong play in the paint. The Bears outscored the Tigers in the paint 24-10 in the second half, thus securing an impressive 77-64 home victory. Andretti Lloyd led all scorers with 17 points, going 2-3 from beyond the arch. J'Quayveon Williams poured in 10 points, 1 block, and 3 steals on the night, while Daniel Beauseiour went 6-8 from the field in route to tallying up 16 points of his own for the night.
The Bears will take on Kentucky Christian at home on Wednesday night in Cleveland, where they will hope to continue their good fortune and pull off another win in front of the home crowd. The Bears will enter that game with a 3-3 mark at home for the season and an overall record of 6-7. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 PM.
