TMC Basketball Opens 2014-2015 Season

Cleveland, GA - On Saturday, November 1st, the Truett-McConnell Men's and Women's Basketball teams will open up their 2014-15 season at home in The Bear Cave. The women will face Columbia International, while the men take on Allen University, both being non-conference games.

Men's Head Coach Jon Yeh said of the upcoming season, "I really like the skill level of our returning players, especially their ability to shoot the basketball. Our group was very young last season with no seniors and only two juniors. They took their lumps, but I definitely think there is enough talent on board to turn things around quickly."

Coach Yeh is new to the coaching staff at Truett-McConnell this year. Prior to coaching the Bears, Yeh was the Associate Head Coach at NAIA Grace College (Winona Lake, Ind.), and helped lead the Lancers to eight consecutive national tournament appearances.

Women's Head Coach Matt Sanders said of the upcoming season, "We must continue to improve in every area, and I feel like we have added the right pieces to do that. We always have the goal to win every game and eventually win a conference championship, but honestly that all starts in the off-season and pre-season to prepare for what's ahead."

Individual tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for youth between the ages of 4-12, and free for children ages 3 and under. Truett-McConnell students, faculty and staff gain free admission with a valid TMC ID.

Tip-off for the women is set for 2:00 PM. Tip-off for the men is set for 4:00 PM.
